We are seeking a commercially minded and process-driven Procurement Officer to join our growing Commercial team based in Rhodes. This is a key role supporting project delivery by ensuring disciplined, system-led procurement practices that protect margins, strengthen governance, and drive supplier performance.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end procurement of materials, plant and subcontract services across multiple projects.
This role is critical to ensuring all procurement is:
Planned and approved
Processed through our ERP system (Premier)
Aligned with budgets and tender allowances
Compliant with governance frameworks
Commercially disciplined and audit-ready
You will play a key role in improving cost visibility, reducing off-system purchasing, and strengthening supplier relationships across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Manage procurement of materials, plant and services in line with approved project budgets
Issue and manage purchase orders through Premier (ERP system)
Enforce system discipline and eliminate off-system procurement activity
Support supplier sourcing, onboarding and performance monitoring
Maintain accurate supplier pricing and compliance documentation
Assist with procurement inputs into variations and cost verification
Monitor supplier pricing drift, delivery issues and commercial risks
Provide regular procurement reporting including spend vs budget and compliance tracking
Support audits and continuous improvement of procurement processes
About You
You are commercially aware, highly organised, and confident influencing project teams to follow disciplined processes.
Candidates must have Australian work authorisation to be eligible for this position.
Essential:
Procurement experience within construction, infrastructure or related industries
Minimum 2-3 years of procurement experience in construction or infrastructure industries is required
Strong understanding of procurement governance and approval frameworks
Experience using ERP systems (Premier or similar)
Regular daily use experience with ERP systems is essential for this role
High attention to detail with strong commercial acumen
Ability to drive compliance and system usage
Desirable:
Experience in fencing, civil or utilities environments
Exposure to subcontractor procurement and supply agreements
Understanding of tender pricing and project cost structures
