We’re currently seeking a driven and strategic Account Manager to join our Sales team. This role is perfect for a commercially minded, technically astute individual who thrives on taking strong initiative, building strong customer relationships, delivering value-based solutions, and driving sales growth across key accounts..

About the Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Account Manager is responsible for executing strategic account plans to grow business across a portfolio of key customers. You’ll lead the discovery process with customers, qualify high-value opportunities, and present technical solutions that deliver measurable value.

This is a proactive, growth-focused sales role, where your focus will be on developing new business and strategic customer partnerships supported by a collaborative team environment and a globally respected brand.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at strategic accounts
  • Create detailed Account Plans based on customer drivers, industry trends and upcoming projects
  • Understand customer buying behaviours, decision-making processes, and organisational structures
  • Understand customer plant, process & value chain.
  • Work collaboratively across Swagelok teams to deliver integrated solutions

Sales Growth & Opportunity Development

  • Identify and develop opportunities using the CRM Opportunity Pipeline and Sales process
  • Design and present tailored proposals that demonstrate clear commercial and technical value
  • Link Swagelok solutions to customer goals, driving long-term buying behaviour change
  • Create and deliver professional proposals, technical & capabilities presentations, and value-in-partnership (VIP) reports

Collaboration & Internal Engagement

  • Leverage cross-functional teams (engineering, customer service, technical experts) to meet customer needs
  • Support customer onboarding with appropriate Swagelok resources and team introductions
  • Use tools like the Sales Dashboard to track performance and identify product/service gaps

Reporting & CRM

  • Plan, execute, and report on all customer interactions via CRM in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, including win/loss reasons and next steps
  • Ensure calendar visibility for “big rock” activities and priority customer engagements

Personal & Professional Development

  • Develop a Personal Development Plan with your manager and complete relevant training
  • Participate in Swagelok ANZ and global training modules, and continually build business acumen
  • Stay informed about the competitive landscape and evolving customer challenges

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Legal working rights in Australia for full-time work
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail and accountability
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and communicate them effectively

Desirable:

  • Experience in industrial sales, especially in sectors like Oil & Gas, Chemical Processing, Mining, R&D, Clean Energy
  • Engineering degree or Trade Qualification
