Surf Life Saving Queensland is looking for a Member Project Officer to help shape how members join, belong, and stay connected to one of Queensland’s most iconic volunteer organisations.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with clubs, branches, and stakeholders across the state to strengthen member onboarding, improve retention, and support strong, consistent club practices.

What You’ll Do:
- Partnering with clubs and branches to provide tailored, practical support.
- Designing and delivering onboarding resources, toolkits, and templates that make it easier for clubs to welcome new members.
- Supporting initiatives that improve conversion from enquiry to membership.
- Delivering projects that enhance member experience, connection, and retention—especially for priority cohorts.
- Attending community activations and engagement events.
- Gathering member insights to continuously improve how we engage and support our volunteers.
- Providing exceptional customer service to members, clubs, and the wider community.
- You’ll also support Junior Activities programs by improving consistency, reducing volunteer workload, and strengthening retention of juniors and their families.
About You:
- Working with children blue card or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Experience planning, coordinating and delivering projects on time.
- Great problem-solving skills and an adaptable mindset.
- The ability to analyse information and identify trends or improvement opportunities.
- A genuine interest in community engagement, volunteerism or membership-based organisations.
- Knowledge of Surf Life Saving Queensland (or similar organisations) is desirable, but not essential.
- Ability to attend expos/events, club functions and meetings.
