Veterinary Receptionist / Administrative Support

Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital

The Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital is growing, and we are looking for a Receptionist / Administrative Support team member to join our purpose-built equine hospital.

Having now been operational for several months, this new role has been created to provide additional support to our growing clinical and administrative team while helping improve workflow efficiency across the hospital.

This position would suit someone with previous veterinary or equine industry experience who enjoys a varied role and thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

About the Role

This role combines reception, administration and general hospital support duties. You will be one of the first points of contact for clients and referring veterinarians while also assisting the broader hospital team with day-to-day operations.

Key duties include:

  • Managing incoming phone calls and client enquiries
  • Booking appointments and coordinating schedules
  • Sending reports, forms and documentation to clients and referring veterinarians
  • General administrative and reception duties
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of office areas
  • Occasional horse handling and support of patient care activities
  • Assisting the Practice Manager and Clinical Director with operational tasks

About You

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Experienced with practice management software
  • Confident working within a veterinary or equine environment
  • Comfortable handling horses
  • Organised, professional and compassionate
  • Willing to assist outside of traditional reception duties to support the wider team
  • Able to multitask and work efficiently in a busy hospital environment

Previous experience within a veterinary practice or the equine industry will be highly regarded.
