Assistant Management Accountant/Management Accountant (12-Month Fixed Term)

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented experienced Assistant or Management Accountant to support the finance function across a multi-entity environment during a 12-month maternity leave period.

The role is suited to someone who can operate independently, take ownership of month-end processes and add value quickly within an established Finance Team.

You will gain exposure to a multi-entity environment, ERP systems (Business Central), and end to end finance processes – providing an opportunity to broaden experience typically found in larger organisations.

Responsibilities:

Month-End & Financial Reporting

• Deliver month-end close across multiple entities
• Prepare journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany
• Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and support decision-making
• Maintain general ledger integrity and financial accuracy

Analysis & Controls:

• Support management reporting and variance analysis
• Assist in maintaining and improving financial controls and processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal standards

Systems & Process Improvement:

• Maintain accurate financial data within ERP accounting systems
• Contribute to improving reporting capability and finance processes
• Support system usage and data quality across the business

Transactional Support (as required):

• Provide support to Accounts Payable during peak periods only (not a core responsibility of the role)

About You:

• 4+ years accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity or complex environment.
• Experience delivering month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Exposure to intercompany accounting.
• Exposure to foreign currency/FX transactions (preferred)
• Ability to work with limited supervision and take ownership of deliverables

Technical Skills:

• Experience with ERP/Accounting systems (Business Central, highly regarded, but not essential)
• Strong Excel capability
• Experience with Xero, MYOB, or similar systems

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Progressing towards or completed CA/CPA
