We’re a proudly independent brewery, built on the idea that beer should be for everyone. Inspired by Melbourne’s rich brewing history, Stomping Ground has been bringing people together over quality craft beer since 2016. Our Collingwood Beer Hall is a big, lively, and welcoming space where mates, families, and beer lovers gather to enjoy great brews, tasty food, and good times.
ABOUT THE VENUE
Housed in a converted warehouse, our Collingwood Beer Hall is all about big communal tables, high ceilings, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. There’s an open brewery where the magic happens, a leafy beer garden, and even a cubby house for the little ones. It’s the kind of place where everyone’s welcome—whether you’re here for a quick pint, a long lunch, or a brewery tour.
Stomping Ground was founded by craft beer pioneers, who wanted to create more than just a brewery—they wanted to build a community hub where beer lovers of all kinds could come together. And that’s exactly what we’ve done!
THE GIG
- Preparing and cooking wood fired pizza
- Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of foods are of the highest quality at all times.
- Assist in the training of junior and apprentice chefs
- Maintaining Occupational, Health and Safety (OH&S) practices in the kitchen
- Ensure the hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation, starting with the ingredients and ending with the finished dish which leaves the kitchen door;
- Responsible for ordering
- Adhering to our Food Preparation, Handling and Storage Policy. Ensure that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions
- Mitigating food wastage, maximising yield from food products
- Attending and participating in restaurant staff meetings
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Trade qualification (Certificate III/IV and/or Diploma) in Kitchen Management, Culinary Arts or Commercial Cookery
- 2-3 years relevant work experience in a high volume establishment working with hand stretched, wood-fired pizzas
- Able to hold down the pizza section and work solo during peak periods
- Flexible availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication to crafting exceptional dishes with fresh ingredients
- Commitment to equality and sustainability practices

- Experience with wood-fired pizza ovens is advantageous but not essential
- Bonus points for a love of great beer!
