Accounts Payable Officer

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our team, part-time, 3 days (15 hours) per week. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the AP Officer’s primary role is to assist the Finance team with varied month-end tasks and to ensure accurate and timely processing of suppliers’ invoices. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Process invoices and purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Verify and reconcile vendor statements
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve any payment issues
• Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
• Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs
• Filing Invoices entered and archiving invoices paid
• Assist with month-end closing procedures
• Provide support to the finance team as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge of computer programs, in particular Excel (V-look-up & Pivot Tables) with hands on experience in PRONTO / REDMAP as an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
