ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be primarily based at our Mirrabooka Campus Nursing Department, reporting to the Faculty Manager – Nursing.

 

In this role, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment for the Diploma of Nursing program, combining theoretical instruction with practical, hands-on learning experiences. You will play a key role in preparing students for clinical placements and professional registration by fostering a supportive, engaging, and student-centred learning environment. Working closely with the Faculty Manager and industry partners, you will ensure all training and assessment activities meet regulatory standards while promoting academic excellence, clinical competence, and professional growth. Your contribution will directly impact student success, enhance the overall learning experience, and support the College’s commitment to delivering high-quality education outcomes and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Engaging Training

  • Lead inspiring and interactive lessons, both theoretical and practical, aligned with the Diploma of Nursing curriculum
  • Create a dynamic learning environment that adapts to various learning styles and ensures exceptional educational outcomes
  • Develop and conduct assessments to gauge student competencies and provide constructive feedback
  • Evaluate practical skills during simulations and real-world placements, ensuring students meet and exceed industry standards

Ensure Compliance and Quality

  • Maintain rigorous standards by ensuring all training and assessments meet ANMAC and ASQA requirements
  • Keep precise records of student progressand assessments, participating in quality assurance processes
  • Offer comprehensive support, guiding students through academic and clinical challenges
  • Prepare students for clinical placements with practical advice on professional conduct and expectations

Engage with Industry

  • Stay abreast of nursing trends and collaborate with healthcare facilities to provide relevant, real world training.
  • Foster strong industry connections to enrich student training and placement opportunities.
  • Ensure every nursing program not only meets but exceeds the standards set by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC), and other regulatory bodies. Make compliance a cornerstone of our commitment to quality education
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and industry knowledge
  • Stay informed on advancements in nursing education and healthcare practices

Student Experience & Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the student experience, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Promote active student engagement and participation in the learning process, fostering a sense of belonging and community within the faculty
  • Oversee student support services, ensuring that the academic, personal, and professional needs of students are met
  • Work closely with the Faculty Manager to align training programs with the overall goals of the Nursing Faculty.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and program development, offering insights to support continuous improvement and innovation in nursing education.

Pursue Professional Growth

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain industry expertise and enhance teaching skills
  • Stay updated on advancements in nursing education and healthcare practices to continuously improve program delivery

Prioritise Workplace Safety

  • Take proactive measures to ensure personal safety and health at work, minimising risks to self and others
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly, adhering to workplace health and safety policies and procedures

Drive Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Foster a culture of innovation across Stanley College through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Align with the institution’s vision, mission, and values in all activities, contributing to organisational growth and development
  • Engage in strategic initiatives and key issues, actively participating in departmental and organisational initiatives
  • Proactively recommend sensible changes and communicate issues affecting Stanley College’s effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and workflows, streamlining administrative processes
  • Maintain accessible documentation and associated processes, facilitating efficient operations
  • Promote diversity and inclusion in the workforce, contributing to a discrimination-free workplace environment
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to develop and implement business growth strategies, including tender activities and related projects

Qualifications and experience

  • A relevant qualification in Nursing
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in nursing education, including teaching, curriculum development, and program management within an RTO or higher education environment
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance management, with a deep understanding of ANMAC and ASQA standards
