ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be primarily based at our West Perth Campus, reporting to the Faculty Manager – ICT.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching across the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) program, supporting students in developing technical expertise, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills. You will contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and continuous improvement initiatives while integrating industry practices and emerging technologies into your teaching. Working collaboratively within the academic team, you will foster an inclusive, student-centred learning environment and play a key role in preparing graduates for successful careers in the ICT industry, aligned with the College’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and workshops across ICT units including programming, networking, cybersecurity, data management and systems analysis.
- Develop unit content, assessments, and learning materials aligned to curriculum and industry standards.
- Facilitate practical learning opportunities and support students through timely feedback and academic guidance.
- Employ innovative teaching approaches and technology to enhance learning outcomes and student experience.
- Contribute to course design, review, moderation and validation processes ensuring academic integrity and continuous improvement.
- Participate in academic meetings, quality assurance and accreditation activities.
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with academic and administrative requirements.
- Engage in professional development, research and scholarly activities to maintain discipline and teaching currency.
- Build and strengthen industry connections to enhance program relevance and graduate outcomes.
- Promote a safe, inclusive and culturally diverse learning environment consistent with institutional values.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A recognised AQF+1 qualification (e.g. Master’s or PhD) or equivalent in a relevant discipline in ICT or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience teaching or lecturing in higher education programs.
- Strong knowledge of ICT theory and practice, with ability to integrate real-world and emerging technologies into teaching.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills with the ability to support diverse student cohorts including international students.
- Experience in curriculum development, assessment design and academic administration is desirable.
- Commitment to scholarly activity, continuous learning and contributing to research or academic development.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and uphold a student-centred teaching approach.
- Understanding of higher education compliance frameworks and commitment to equity, safety and inclusive practice.
