The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer – Bachelor of Community Services to deliver high-quality teaching and learning within our Community Services program. In this role, you will support students in developing the knowledge, skills, and values required for effective practice in the sector, contribute to curriculum development, and help drive continuous program improvement. You will play a key role in fostering ethical practice, critical thinking, and cultural competence while helping to shape future community service professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and workshops across Community Services units.
  • Apply innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Provide academic mentoring, constructive feedback, and student learning support.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, moderation, and review.
  • Participate in quality assurance, accreditation processes, and program improvement.
  • Maintain accurate student records and uphold academic standards and compliance.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, research, and ongoing professional development.
  • Build industry and community partnerships to enhance program relevance and placements.
  • Model and promote workplace safety, inclusivity, equality and ethical practice.

About You

  • A recognised AQF+1 qualification (e.g. Master’s or PhD) or equivalent in a relevant discipline in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching or lecturing in higher education.
  • Strong understanding of community services practice, ethics, and sector frameworks.
  • Skilled in creating inclusive, culturally responsive, and student-centred learning environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and academic mentoring skills.
  • Ability to support diverse student cohorts, including international students.
  • Research engagement and willingness to participate in scholarly and professional development activities.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute to program development and continuous improvement.
