ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be primarily based at our West Perth Campus, reporting to the Faculty Manager – Community Services.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching within the Bachelor of Community Services program, supporting students to develop professional knowledge, critical thinking, and culturally responsive practice. You will contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and continuous improvement while fostering an inclusive, student-centred learning environment. Working collaboratively with academic colleagues and industry partners, you will play a key role in preparing graduates for ethical and effective practice in diverse community settings, aligned with the College’s commitment to academic excellence and social impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops across community services units using innovative and student-centred teaching approaches.
  • Ensure teaching and assessment align with academic standards, industry expectations, and graduate outcomes.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback, academic guidance, and mentoring to support student success.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and culturally responsive learning environment.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, moderation, validation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate in academic administration, quality assurance, and accreditation processes.
  • Maintain accurate student records and comply with academic and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in professional development and scholarly activities to enhance teaching practice and discipline knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to departmental and institutional initiatives, upholding workplace safety and organisational values.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A recognised AQF+1 qualification (Master’s or PhD) in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a closely related discipline.
  • Extensive experience teaching in higher education, with strong knowledge of community services theory, practice, and ethical frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and engage diverse student cohorts, including international students.
  • Commitment to inclusive education, cultural diversity, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and academic mentoring skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary academic team.
