The Opportunity
Stanley College is seeking a proactive and hands-on Facilities Officer (Maintenance) to help ensure our campuses remain safe, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the College’s facilities, equipment, and grounds to the highest standards of safety and presentation.
Working across multiple campuses, the Facilities Officer will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance, minor repairs, and supporting the coordination of contractors and service providers. You’ll take pride in your work, respond quickly to maintenance requests, and help create a positive, well-maintained environment that supports learning and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and minor works including painting, plumbing, and furniture assembly, and garden maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
- Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules.
- Liaise with internal departments, external contractors, and suppliers to coordinate maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and safety documentation.
- Support waste management and upkeep of outdoor and communal spaces.
- Promote a safe work environment and comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
About You
- Proven experience in maintenance, facilities, or building services within a commercial or institutional setting.
- Hands-on skills across general repairs, cleaning, and minor maintenance tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, functional environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid WA driver’s licence and willingness to travel across multiple campuses.
- A technical trade qualification is desirable but not essential.
