The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Casual Barista Trainer to deliver high-quality, hands-on hospitality training with a strong focus on barista skills. The role is ideal for an industry professional who enjoys sharing practical knowledge, modelling best practice, and supporting learners to develop job-ready coffee skills in a safe and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, practical barista training sessions using face-to-face teaching methods.
  • Demonstrate industry-standard espresso preparation, milk texturing, and latte art techniques.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and skill development.
  • Provide clear demonstrations, practical activities, and constructive feedback to support student learning.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised training space, ensuring correct use of coffee equipment and adherence to food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Support consistent, high-quality training outcomes aligned with industry expectations.

About You

  • Relevant qualification in hospitality or a related field.
  • Current Food Safety Certificate (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience as a barista in a commercial café environment with strong practical skills in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art.
  • Sound knowledge of coffee equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, and workplace hygiene practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain and demonstrate techniques to learners.
  • Previous experience coaching, mentoring, or training others is desirable.
