Summary:

The FM Critical Operations Supervisor – Electrical provides day-to-day operational leadership and technical governance to ensure the safe, compliant and reliable performance of all site electrical infrastructure. This Monday–Friday role is accountable for overseeing electrical operations, coordinating major works, maintaining regulatory and contractual compliance, and supporting STACK’s unwavering commitment to 100% uptime and concierge-level customer service.

The position participates in a rotating on-call roster to provide after-hours escalation, ensuring timely response to electrical incidents or abnormal conditions. The Supervisor leads the Electrical workstream across all shift teams, providing expert escalation for complex electrical issues and coordinating key activities such as planned shutdowns, switching operations, fault response, energisation/de-energisation activities, and return-to-service (RTS) validation.

This role ensures that all electrical training, competencies and authorisation requirements are met and maintained. The Supervisor works closely with site stakeholders to uplift procedures, strengthen electrical safety practices, enhance plant performance and continuously improve operational readiness across the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold STACK’s 100% uptime objective by providing disciplined operational leadership and oversight of site electrical systems and associated work controls.
  • Ensure safe and compliant operation of HV (working with STACK HV Operations Manager) and LV systems, including adherence to switching rules, site processes and required training/authorisation prerequisites.
  • Maintain real-time situational awareness of electrical system condition, redundancy state and risk indicators through EPMS/BMS and field verification.
  • Act as the primary electrical escalation point for shift teams, providing real-time guidance, diagnostic support and risk evaluation.
  • Lead the development, review and implementation of operational and maintenance procedures, including MOPs and SOPs.
  • Coordinate major electrical activities including planned shutdowns, incident response, corrective maintenance, on-site troubleshooting and programmed maintenance.
  • Review and provide input into risk assessments, switching plans, permit‑to‑work controls, isolations/LOTO and return‑to‑service documentation.
  • Verify operational readiness following maintenance, resets, system changes or commissioning activities by confirming alarms, redundancy status, load paths and control sequences.
  • Provide coaching, uplift and technical mentoring to Senior Data Centre Specialists, Senior Technicians and Technicians to strengthen team capability and execution consistency.
  • Represent Critical Operations during customer visits, tours, audits and technical discussions, maintaining a concierge‑level customer service approach at all times.

Competencies

  • Advanced operational judgement in a mission‑critical environment.
  • Strong technical capability in electrical systems, protection behaviour and switching operations.
  • Expert interpretation of plant telemetry, protection responses, automation sequences and redundancy models.
  • Structured troubleshooting and stabilisation capability under pressure.
  • Proficiency with BMS/EPMS, CMMS and operational data platforms.
  • Strong coordination and oversight skills for work control, vendor interaction and RTS verification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication suitable for incidents and customer interactions.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • A‑Grade Electrical Licence (Australia) OR an Electrical Engineering qualification with relevant Australian registration suitable for the scope of the role.
  • Extensive experience in data centres or other mission‑critical facilities (utilities, hospitals, defence, industrial).

Demonstrated expertise operating and monitoring critical power systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs/PMMs, ATS/STS) and associated control systems. Equal Opportunity Employer
