Summary:
The Electrical Service Engineer is responsible of services management of site services trades & suppliers, sub-contractors on Data Centre projects, including design activities and commissioning, the reporting of all relevant site activities and managing the quality of work performed.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist with the services design & site coordination between electrical, high voltage & low voltage systems including controls (SCADA and BMS).
- Provide a point of escalation between site management and site sub-contracted services trades and suppliers.
- Contribute to the programming of services site works in accordance with the construction program.
- Work closely with key services suppliers to ensure delivery of plant and equipment in line with the scheduling of installation services.
- In conjunction with the Stack Project Manager & Director, plan and review overall status of the project on an ongoing basis focussed on services trade disciplines.
- Understand and provide input to the detailed services design, including co-ordination of services related design activities including BIM coordination, assist with the explanation of services work to non-services trades and project resources
- Ensure the Stack Project Manager & Director is promptly advised on any services issues or clashes that have the potential to cause delay, variations or disruption to the project contract, timelines, and scope of works.
- Review and approve Services trades progress payments, reports and issues.
- Provide support and assistance to ongoing technical maintenance, when required.
- Appropriately delegate tasks to direct reports and ensure that relevant information is communicated enabling them to effectively carry out their functions
- Ensure all reasonable steps are taken to always achieve harmony amongst services trades on site.
- Participate in the development and execution of the Site Cx Planning and implementation. Attend factory witness tests (FAT/FWT) when requested. Coordinate site commissioning activities in accordance with CX and program requirements.
- Any other ad hoc duties as required
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Minimum 10 years of experience working in the electrical services trades with 5+ years high voltage
- switching experience. Data Centre build and or fit out experience on projects with capital value $50m+.
- Sound planning and organising skills
- Strong people and supervisory skills together with an ability to communicate effectively
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of Site Workplace Safety, Environmental Management and Quality Systems
- An eye for detail, be commercially astute
- Be able to undertake collaborative problem solving
