Description

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to work at the core of Australian women’s sport. As Digital Platforms Manager, you’ll sit at the intersection of three elite teams — Melbourne Mavericks, Bendigo Spirit and Perth Lynx — bridging the relationships between clients, sponsors, athletes and fans.

You’ll manage a small team of freelance content creators, commissioning engaging content that meets client and sponsor needs while entertaining fans across every platform. You’ll take creative concepts from client briefs and bring them to life quickly, cleverly, and on brand.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role for someone who thrives on organisation, moves fast, thinks creatively, and communicates brilliantly under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the key relationship bridge between clients, sponsors, athletes and fans
  • Translate client briefs into creative concepts and engaging content
  • Ensure all sponsor and partner deliverables are met accurately and on time
  • Help engage our athletes and develop their understanding and brand across platforms

Content Commissioning & Production

  • Commission and brief a small team of freelance content creators to ensure all creative and client deliverables are ticked off
  • Oversee content from concept through to delivery, ensuring it’s timely, engaging and on-brand
  • Maintain a content calendar across all three clubs, keeping every deadline, delivery and publishing schedule on track

People Management

  • Manage and support freelance creators, providing clear direction and feedback
  • Stick to budgets
  • Coordinate schedules and workloads across three teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Be available outside of regular work hours and weekends

Publishing & Social Strategy

  • Manage scheduling and publishing of content across all social and digital platforms
  • Plan and execute paid social campaigns
  • Attend training sessions and game days to capture and publish real-time content, keeping fans up to date
  • Create and nurture relationships with athletes and coaching staff

About You

  • Prior experience is essential – you’ve worked in digital content, social media or sports marketing before, and it shows
  • Proven people management experience, ideally managing freelancers or a small creative team
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, sponsors, athletes and internal stakeholders alike
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of social media platforms and how to run paid campaigns across them
  • Hyper-organised, with the ability to juggle multiple clients, deadlines and content streams at once
  • A fast, creative thinker who can turn a brief into brilliant content under time pressure
  • Flexible and willing to work training sessions and game days as required, including evenings and weekends
  • A genuine passion for sport – particularly women’s sport – is highly valued
