Description

Role: Program Facilitator

Start Date: Immediate

Commitment: Ongoing

Time: Mondays during the school term 4:15pm to 6:45pm

Location: Mandurah

Role Purpose

Social Program Facilitators hold responsibility for planning and delivering an inclusive strength-based Social Program for autistic individuals through a range of activities based on the needs, strengths and interests of attendees. The role supports participants by creating a safe, inclusive and empowering environment that creates opportunities for people to come together, connect and grow.

As a Social Program Facilitator, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering a semi-structured, strengths-based social program that is uniquely tailored to autistic participants’ individual needs, special interests, goals and communication styles.
  • Building supportive relationships with (and among) participants, recognising and responding to individual strengths, triggers, and communication needs.
  • Ensuring all sessions follow internal risk management policies and procedures.
  • Guide and mentor a small team of Assistants, volunteers and/or students assigned to a Social Program.
