🌟 Site Surface Supervisor – Keep Sunday Creek running, day in, day out
Tuesday – Tuesday | 8:6 Roster | Sunday Creek, VIC
Permanent | Operations Team | Start June 2026
Southern Cross Gold Consolidated (SXGC) is progressing one of Australia’s most exciting gold and antimony discoveries at the Sunday Creek Project in Victoria. As our activities expand, we’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Site Surface Supervisor to support surface operations and exploration programs across site.
This is a practical, outdoor role where your work directly contributes to safe, efficient operations — from drill pad preparation through to site logistics and maintenance.
If you enjoy physical work, being outdoors and working as part of a close-knit team, this is a great opportunity to build your career in the mining and exploration industry.
Why SXGC?
Because your work here matters.
SXGC is a growing company moving from exploration toward development, which means real opportunities to shape how the surface is run as the project scales up. We offer a supportive team environment, strong safety culture and consistent 8:6 work close to home – no FIFO required.
You’ll be part of a disciplined and professional site team where reliability, teamwork and safety are genuinely valued, and your judgement on the ground carries real weight.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, generalist role at the centre of everything happening on the surface at Sunday Creek. You’ll translate the Project Manager’s plans into daily, on-the-ground reality – keeping drill pads ready, contractors coordinated, vehicles and infrastructure in good order, and the site safe and presentable.
The role is performed on an 8:6 roster with a back-to-back supervisor, so continuity matters as much as initiative. You’ll directly supervise a Field Technician supporting drill pad and field set-up.
What You’ll Drive
🔸 Day-to-day supervision of surface site operations across Sunday Creek
🔸 Drill pad readiness – prep, water, communication so the rigs keep turning
🔸 Coordinating deliveries, contractors, and the logistics of moving materials
🔸 Property and infrastructure maintenance – coordinating plumbing, electrical, fencing, pumps, dams and surface water
🔸 Direct supervision and support of a Field Technician
🔸 Safety, environment and housekeeping standards consistent with a Best in Class operation
Who You Are
You’re a practical operator – calm when plans shift, comfortable directing contractors, and you take real pride in a tidy, ready, well-run site. You communicate early when something’s off, document what matters, and you back the people around you to get the job done. You’re a self-starter who can work in isolation, identifying what needs to be done in an efficient manner.
Your Background
✔ Prior site supervision or operational experience in mining, drilling, civil or heavy industry
✔ Manual driver’s licence (required)
✔ Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck Licence and Forklift Licence (required)
✔ Poly welding capability (desirable)
✔ Comfortable working an 8:6 roster
