🌟Environmental Technician – Help us run a clean, compliant, well-monitored site
Monday – Friday | 5:2 Roster | Kilmore & Sunday Creek, VIC
Permanent | Operations Team | Start June 2026
We’re looking for a switched-on early-career environmental professional to keep monitoring data flowing, samples moving and compliance solid as Sunday Creek scales up.
Why SXGC?
Because your work here matters.
SXGC is a growing company moving from exploration toward development, which means real opportunities to build your career while doing work that genuinely matters.
We offer a supportive team environment, strong safety culture and consistent Monday – Friday work close to home – no FIFO required. You’ll be part of a disciplined and professional site team where environmental care, attention to detail and clear communication are genuinely valued.
About the Role
Reporting to the Environment Manager, the Environmental Technician keeps our monitoring program running and our compliance obligations on track. The role suits a graduate or early-career environmental professional ready to spend time in the field collecting data, in the office turning it into reports, and on site supporting rehabilitation and community work. You’ll split your week between our Kilmore base and the Sunday Creek project.
What You’ll Drive
🔸Routine environmental monitoring – water, air quality, noise and vibration
🔸 Sample collection, preparation and chain-of-custody procedures
🔸Maintaining monitoring databases – data acquisition, QA/QC, charting and trend analysis
🔸 Keeping monitoring equipment serviceable, calibrated and operating
🔸Compliance support across licences, approvals and statutory obligations
🔸 Rehabilitation and revegetation works, including health surveys
🔸Incident reporting, investigations and regulatory report preparation
Who You Are
You’re diligent, organised and take real pride in getting the small things right – because in environmental work the small things matter. You communicate clearly, escalate exceedances early, and you’re as comfortable in the field collecting samples as you are at a desk turning data into insights. You’re flexible and able to adapt based on weather, operational or community requirements as needed.
Your Background
✔ Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Environmental Science (or related discipline)
✔ 0–2 years’ experience – graduates welcome
✔ Solid Excel / database skills with trend analysis and basic charting
✔ Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable preparing technical reports
✔ Valid Driver’s Licence
✔ Self-motivated and happy to work independently when needed
✔ Highly regarded: First Aid & Snake Bite certificates and GIS proficiency
