Are you passionate about empowering young people and creating spaces where their voices genuinely shape what happens next?
At South East Community Links (SECL), our youth work is led by young people themselves — and we’re looking for a Youth Engagement Practitioner who believes in connection, inclusion and community‑driven change.
About South East Community Links
SECL imagines a world where everyone is valued and systems operate fairly. We are driven by a commitment to challenge the status quo and create a society where everyone’s contributions are recognised and celebrated.
We work alongside our diverse communities to break down systemic barriers and deliver better social and economic outcomes — particularly for migrants, refugees, women and young people. At SECL, diversity is a strength. By embracing it, we build inclusive communities where people of all backgrounds can thrive and reach their full potential.
About the Role
As a Youth Engagement Practitioner, you will play a key role in a youth‑led initiative that places young people at the centre of decision‑making, program design and delivery.
Working closely with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds, you will support group workshops, school holiday programs, and youth‑led musical and cultural events that strengthen social connection, cultural identity, leadership and community participation.
This role suits someone who is passionate about empowering young people, amplifying youth voice and creating inclusive spaces where young people feel safe, heard and connected.

- Facilitate leadership and skills development activities that build confidence and connection
- Collaborate with the Youth Leadership Group to respond to emerging issues
- Strengthen local partnerships and networks to improve outcomes for multicultural young people
- Accurately record engagement activities using SECL’s client systems
- Contribute to evaluation, reporting and continuous improvement
