Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sports Turf professional to oversee the maintenance and presentation of sporting fields and landscaped grounds at a prestigious private school in Burwood. This role requires strong experience in sports turf management, irrigation, turf renovation, and high-standard grounds maintenance across athletic facilities.
So, what duties can you expect to do?
- Perform sports turf and general grounds maintenance across sporting fields and landscaped areas.
- Maintain high-quality presentation of sports ovals, turf surfaces, and garden areas.
- Carry out specialised greenkeeping tasks including aerating, top dressing, and turf repairs.
- Complete horticultural gardening and landscape maintenance works across the site.
- Manage weed control, chemical application, and turf treatments.
- Maintain irrigation systems and monitor watering performance.
- Identify flora and manage plant health across turf and garden areas.
- Operate zero-turn mowers and specialised turf machinery.
- Use hand tools and powered equipment for grounds maintenance tasks.Work across sporting complexes and high-use turf areas.
- Coordinate with site stakeholders regarding field use and maintenance schedules.
- Manage assigned work areas and ensure tasks are completed to standard.
- Work as part of the grounds team to maintain site presentation and safety.
What are we looking for?
- Experience in sports turf or grounds maintenance in schools, sports facilities, or commercial sites
- Comfortable working in a school environment with specific cultural and community values.
- Ability to follow site guidelines and respect workplace policies and practices
What will you need?
- Cert III in Sports Turf Management (highly desirable / preferred)
- Driver’s Licence (Manual or Automatic) and own transport
- National Police Check (required or willingness to obtain)
- Working With Children Check (required or willingness to obtain)
