We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer to support our Global Insurance Modernisation programme in the Data & AI space. This role operates at the intersection of Insurance, Data, AI, and change delivery, supporting the modernisation of core insurance functions through data‑driven and AI‑enabled initiatives.
You will work closely with insurance stakeholders, product owners, data and AI specialists, Architects, and Delivery Teams to bring clarity to complex problem spaces and deliver confident, well‑governed outcomes.
You are not a passive requirements taker. You can challenge unclear requests, shape meaningful problem statements, and produce clear design artefacts that help teams move faster with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with core insurance stakeholders to understand problem statements, scope, outcomes, and success measures.
- Support intake, discovery, and triage of Data & AI initiatives within the Global Insurance Modernisation programme.
- Shape and support proofs of concept (POCs), including scope definition, success criteria, risks, and next‑step recommendations.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical designs, process flows, data requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate discovery workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder walkthroughs.
- Create and manage Jira Cloud epics, 100s of stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, and delivery dashboards.
- Produce structured Confluence documentation including discovery notes, architecture decisions, RAID logs, process flows, and delivery updates.
- Work closely with technical teams to understand system dependencies, data flows, and delivery feasibility, identifying risks and dependencies early.
- Support change delivery through planning, stakeholder engagement, testing, UAT, readiness, and implementation.
- Help ensure AI‑enabled initiatives are practical, governed, and aligned to broader insurance business outcomes.
What You Bring
- Strong experience as a Solution Designer within large, regulated enterprise environments.
- Mandatory experience in the insurance sector, specifically covering core operations or claims workflows.
- Strong understanding of data fundamentals including quality, lineage, privacy, and governance.
- Practical understanding of AI concepts, including generative AI, model limitations, inherent risks, human review, validation, and exception handling.
- Proven experience supporting discovery, POCs, and pilots.
- Intermediate to advanced Jira Cloud and Confluence skills, alongside strong Agile delivery experience.
- Confidence managing ambiguity, challenging unclear scope, and engaging stakeholders effectively.
