Overview of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to design, build, and optimise enterprise-grade analytics and reporting solutions for complex client environments. You will work closely with data engineers, product teams, and senior stakeholders to translate business questions into clear, high-impact insights.
This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, suited to someone who enjoys owning analytics outcomes end-to-end, from data modelling through to executive-ready dashboards.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Power BI dashboards and reports for enterprise and regulated environments
- Model complex datasets using star schemas and best-practice semantic layer design
- Build and optimise DAX measures with a strong focus on performance and maintainability
- Partner with data engineers to shape data pipelines and ensure reporting-ready data models
- Work directly with stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and analytical outcomes
- Implement row-level security and governance controls aligned to data security standards
- Drive consistency, quality, and usability across reporting solutions
- Contribute to analytics standards, patterns, and best practices across engagements
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Strong commercial experience delivering Power BI solutions in production environments
- Advanced Power BI development skills including DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling
- Experience working with SQL-based data platforms (e.g. SQL Server, Azure SQL, Snowflake, Synapse)
- Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable insights
- Experience working in agile, delivery-focused teams
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
Preferred:
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries
- Exposure to Azure data services (ADF, Synapse, Fabric)
- Experience designing analytics for large-scale or multi-tenant platforms
- Understanding of data governance, security, and access control patterns
- Experience working alongside AI, ML, or advanced analytics teams
