Overview of the Role

We are seeking an experienced hands‑on Network Security Analyst to play a key role in securing how our client’s business and suppliers connect. The role involves working with complex networks, analysing traffic flows, and shaping secure connectivity patterns.

The Network Security Analyst will investigate and assess third‑party and supplier network connections, identify risks, and guide teams through remediation and verification. It will require working directly with firewall tooling, logs, routers, and documentation to uncover how connections really work, then help ensure they meet security standards.

Australian work rights are required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Analysis

  • Map supplier connectivity using tools like AlgoSec, Splunk/Observe, and network/security documentation
  • Review firewall policies, router configs, NAT, and IP addressing
  • Perform path tracing, gather evidence, and produce clear documentation

Security Assessment

  • Evaluate connections against hardening guidelines and architectural patterns
  • Work closely with Cloud Security Architects, Security Engineers, network teams, and suppliers
  • Recommend remediation steps and contribute to pattern and security documentation
  • Support cyber risk assessments and document security findings

Remediation Support

  • Advise Business Owners and suppliers on hardening options or alternative connectivity patterns
  • Assist with firewall/change requests where required
  • Contribute to risk documentation and ensure Line 1 stakeholders are informed
  • Validate and evidence that remediation activities have been implemented correctly

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Strong experience in perimeter firewalls, routing, and edge security
  • Hands‑on expertise with AlgoSec or equivalent firewall policy tools, Palo Alto firewalls, Splunk/Observe logging, Cisco ASRs
  • Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/UDP, NAT, L3/L4 protocols, IP addressing & subnetting
  • Ability to assess network security risks and make pragmatic recommendations
  • Investigative mindset, comfortable digging through tooling, logs, and docs to trace flows
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
