SMA Australia has a part-time position available for a talented Engineering Student in our

Large-Scale team. The position is hybrid ie, a mix of working from home and working at our North Sydney office.

About the role

The role supports our sales and business development team and interacts with our project management function as well.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Develop a good understanding of the quotation and sales forecast systems (Salesforce & SAP), to assist with quote preparation and maintenance of sales forecast.
  • Continuously improve knowledge in electrical engineering concepts and industry trends related to inverters and power electronics.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering teams to assist with technical queries and contribute to improvements in the way of doing business, with a view to potentially finding a preferred area of interest.
  • Assist with research & analysis of the large scale solar & battery market and customer needs to identify potential customers, competitors and emerging trends.
  • Assist with developing better technical & commercial tools / documents to standardise responses to customers.

Experience & Skills

  • 2nd to 4th year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Involvement in renewable energy university projects would benefit the candidate.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Solar energy industry.
  • Experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Completion of an internship would be beneficial.
  • Corporate work experience.      
  • General technical understanding related to renewable and conventional energy.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to work closely with engineers and project managers.
  • Passion to learn and develop from on-the-job training.
  • Comfortable with research and administrative skills to design presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of excel.
  • Good social business skills.
