SMA Australia has a full-time opportunity for a talented Project Manager, working in our Large-Scale team. This position is office-based & hybrid ie, a mix of working from home and working at our North Sydney Head Office.
About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the delivery and execution of projects in Australia. This role acts as an interface between SMA Australia, SMA Headquarters in Germany, key stakeholders within supply chain and external customers to ensure the delivery of projects according to contractual obligations. The role is particularly suited to an individual with a background in power conversion systems with strong project management skills.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Reviewing contracts and identifying main risks and milestones such as deliveries, payments, documentation, etc.
- Liaise with CPJM team to ensure the commercial aspects of the contract are controlled.
- Review and confirm that offered services and technical specifications match the obligations and commitments under the contract.
- Manage contract variations.
- Communicate and manage stakeholders internally and externally post contract award to ensure successful contract execution.
- Successful delivery of projects and eliminate cost or time slippage on contract.
- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Effective conflict management.
- Organising internal and customer projects kick off meetings post contract award.
- Report projects status to relevant internal and external stakeholders as well as maintaining complete and accurate records.
- To ensure all deliverables in contract are met by SMA.
- Resolve project Issues and escalate when necessary.

Your qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field.
- A Diploma or other Certification in Project Management.
- Strong project management skills.
- 2 or more years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong time management skills and ability to co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders across multiple projects.
- Ability to read and interpret contracts.
- Customer relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills with the ability to engage in effective conversations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid organisational skills including attention to detail.
- A solid understanding of renewable power conversion systems is a definite advantage
