hardware, solving practical problems, and supporting the delivery of real-world

Your Opportunity
As an Electronics Technician, you’ll play a key role in assembling, testing, and
maintaining Silentium Defence’s passive radar systems. You’ll support hardware
development activities, participate in field trials, and contribute to the
reliability and performance of mission-critical technology.
This role suits someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a
structured engineering environment where quality, safety, and teamwork matter.
In this role, you will:
- Assemble, test, and maintain electronic systems and components
- Support the hardware team in product development and manufacturing activities
- Perform bench testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting of systems and sub-systems
- Assist with component selection and procurement
- Prepare systems and equipment for trials and demonstrations
- Participate in field trials and installation activities (including antenna systems)
- Create and maintain accurate documentation and records for testing and development activities
- Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and suppliers
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace
About You
You’re a hands-on technician who enjoys building, testing, and improving hardware
systems. You work well within a team, take pride in quality workmanship, and
are comfortable learning new technologies and processes.
You’re reliable, proactive, and willing to step in and help wherever needed to support
team success.
What You’ll Bring
- Certificate III in Engineering (Electronics Trade) or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working in electronic assembly, manufacturing, or technical environments
- Strong soldering and prototype assembly skills
- Experience interpreting circuit diagrams and generating technical documentation
- Experience using laboratory and test equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Experience working safely in workshop or laboratory environments
- Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance
Highly desirable:
- Experience supporting field trials or technical deployments
- Familiarity with radio frequency (RF) systems
- Experience working in Defence, manufacturing, or engineering environments
- Experience with component procurement or inventory management
