Share the Dignity is passionate about our work helping women, girls and those who have a period, who are in need and eliminating period poverty in Australia. As a relatively young charity (10 years old), there are still so many ways to grow and improve what we do – and we are looking for people who would relish the challenge of being a part of this phase.
The Events Coordinator is a new full time role, for an initial 12-month period. Reporting to our Giving, Communications and Events Manager and working closely with our Fundraising and Events team will ensure successful delivery of our key events.
Duties include:
- Coordinate a range of both large and small events in the Share the Dignity calendar, including DigniTea, Host your Own Fundraisers and varied brand events throughout the year
- Coordinate and support volunteer conferences (held every 3 years)
- Provide assistance and support for community fundraisers for both in person and virtual events
- Provide guidance and support with queries and communications to key stakeholders with the Fundraising and Events Team
- Support our volunteer groups that assist with the delivery of fundraising and events activities
- Report and analysis of the key events and programs
We are looking for someone who can bring their enthusiasm, attention to detail, strong communication skills and coordination skills to our key events and any other Fundraising and Events initiatives as may be delegated. This role will be fast-paced, exciting and rewarding!
Being adaptable, flexible and responsive to changing circumstances is a must. As is your ability to establish warm and respectful relationships with all stakeholders of Share the Dignity and communicate effectively in person, via email and using online communication tools. You will be a collaborative team player who pitches in when needed in a small team.
To be a successful candidate you will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Events Management or Business Administration, or similar field, or previous experience relevant to this role
- Proven experience in events management and ability to uphold timeframes with high level organisation skills, eye for detail and the ability to think and plan ahead
- Strong knowledge and proven experience with Microsoft Office suite
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide an exceptional level of customer service to a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to attend fundraising events to support the Giving, Communications and Events team when required
Juggling a varied workload with competing timeframes and an ability to be calm and responsive under pressure are key to your ongoing success.
