Job Title: Graphic Designer (Permanent Part-time)

You assist the Senior Graphic Designer in all aspects of SHQ branding, signage and design services ensuring they are aligned with the organisation’s guidelines, vision and values. You work within a high performing team and deliver quality product to a diverse client base.

The role
- Work with the Senior Graphic Designer to develop design concepts.
- Assist the Senior Graphic designer with the design of on brand print and digital marketing materials.
- Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadlines.
- Assist in the creation of artwork for web and print, include liaising with suppliers and proofreading.
- Foster a high standard of professionalism in the visual creation of SHQ’s communication literature.
- Work with the Communications and Engagement team to develop key organisation messages and promotional materials.
- With direction from the Senior Graphic Designer create and update corporate pamphlets, reports, flyers, catalogues and other print media.
- Help maintain SHQ social media accounts.
- Work with units across the organisation to ensure brand compliance.
- Liaise with printers to organise printing, generate quotes and update relevant databases.
Your Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Experience
- Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, colour, and other graphic design fundamentals.
- Adept with image manipulation software (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience using technological tools and editing software (e.g., Facebook, WordPress, Instagram)
- Competent in drawing and Illustration, in particular life/medical/anatomical drawing.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong creative and analytical skills.
- Ability to take initiative, show good judgment, and manage projects from beginning to end.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Detail orientated with a very high level of accuracy, with the ability to work proactively and autonomously, as well as cohesively as part of a small team.
- Ability to use initiative and accept accountability for own actions.
- A strong customer focus.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with experience of managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively.
- Excellent communication and problem resolution skills.
- Strong passion for getting things done on time and pre-empting the next step.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate client needs and develop solutions to meet their specific requirements.
- Sound written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate confidently and clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Commitment to the philosophy and objectives which guide the work of SHQ.
- Experience in a Not for Profit or Health Environment.
Your qualifications and/or other requirements
- Current Working with Children check
- A National Police Clearance no older than 6 months from date of issue.
- Current certificate of immunisation.
