This particular role sits with IPS (Infrastructure Project Solutions), a Sequana Group Company.
At Infrastructure Project Solutions (IPS), in addition to providing services in traditional infrastructure delivery, IPS also provides specialist engineering and complex construction execution services. Currently, IPS has a position for a Senior Project Engineer to join their client, a top-tier company, to be embedded within their team for a fixed-term position of 6 months with the view to extend longer term.
The Senior Project Engineer will demonstrate leadership qualities as they will have involvement in mentoring site and graduate engineers, offering on-site engineering services and technical support with an unwavering commitment to ensuring safety, environmental compliance, adherence to specifications, meticulous design, and meeting contractual obligations.
The Senior Project Engineer will work with other senior members to achieve optimum production and cost outcomes, while managing specific project components and overseeing the daily management of technical aspects of project delivery. Demonstrating a full commitment to the success of their projects, a Senior Engineer must be passionate about achieving best-for-project outcomes, and all delivery aspects of their work should reflect the Company’s mission, vision, and principles.
WHAT YOU DO
- Assisting the Design Manager/Project Manager and broader teams with engineering and technical tasks during planning, detailed design and early investigation phases.
- Developing positive stakeholder relationships, including interface with local government agencies and private landowners.
- Documenting and communicating project details to allow informed decision-making.
- Status reporting of subcontractor packages and escalation of issues affecting progress deliverables.
- Upholding project governance obligations.
- Developing cost-effective engineering solutions for pipe alignment options with a focus on constructability.
- Providing off-site & on-site (where applicable) engineering and construction management services during early work phases.
- Developing the scope of works and input to procurement packages for early works.
- Coordinating the resolution of technical/design queries from design consultants during detailed design phases.
- Participating in design and risk workshops.
- Reviewing and assessing engineering and technical deliverables to ensure compliance with project deliverables.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance to applicable codes, engineering standards, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Contributing to Design Management, Quality Assurance and Health & Safety processes
- Working in accordance with company quality assurance procedures, client specifications and ISO requirements
- Setting high standards and accountability for delivering on projects/contracts and other responsibilities and duties as required from time to time.
WHO YOU ARE
Candidates should possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or Project Management or similar relevant qualifications.
- Experience in a similar role delivering civil infrastructure projects.
- A Construction White Card is required.
- Experience in all phases of project delivery, from initial concept development to operational handover, with a strong appreciation for regulatory requirements and compliance.
- A proactive and self-driven approach to learning and staying updated with industry trends and advancements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability
to provide innovative and practical solutions to technical challenges.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage
with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Experience in working with authorities, such as local councils or government agencies.
- Proven commitment to health, safety, environmental sustainability, and quality outcomes.
