We are looking for a Specialised Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team and help grow our business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and running profile wrapping lamination hotmelt glue form production lines, operating plasma profile treatment systems, and overseeing the setup of multiple profile wrapping lines. The role will also involve preparing detailed mechanical drawings for custom timber and aluminium design elements, including individual parts and complex layouts, ensuring alignment with Sculptform’s architectural project needs.
You will assist in the installation and assembly of new or modified mechanical components and systems, focusing on Sculptform’s unique products such as Click-on battens for walls, ceilings, and facades. You will perform routine maintenance and adjustments on Sculptform’s manufacturing equipment and control systems to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
The role will also include providing technical assistance to clients regarding the optimal use and maintenance of Sculptform’s products, collecting and analysing data to assist in the design and modification of mechanical equipment, conducting field and laboratory tests to ensure products and systems function correctly, estimating material costs and quantities, and organising and supervising the inspection and maintenance of equipment.
You will also ensure that all designs and finished work adhere to specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in a similar position, experience and familiarity with the tools required by the role, experience in profile wrapping aluminium, MDF, PVC and timber profiles with foil wrap and timber veneers, experience with wrapping complex aluminium profiles, and experience with wrapping large profiles requiring two passes with overlapping joints. Strong attention to detail, reliability and precision are essential.
