About the role
We’re looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager who thrives on opening doors, building relationships, and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships.
This is a proactive, hunter-style role focused on generating new business and driving market growth across our corporate client base. Success in this role comes from strong phone-based and face-to-face consultative selling, exceptional stakeholder management, and the ability to truly understand a client’s learning and capability needs.
You’ll be self-driven, motivated by results and someone who brings energy, structure, and big-picture thinking to everything they do.
What you’ll be doing
New business & sales growth
- Proactively identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through cold calling, networking, and referrals
- Engage senior decision-makers to understand organisational needs and tailor learning solutions
- Prepare and present persuasive proposals and tender responses
- Confidently handle objections and negotiate outcomes that create mutual value
Strategic business development
- Develop and execute strategic sales approaches to expand market share
- Attend industry events and conferences to identify trends and opportunities
- Collaborate internally to shape new services, campaigns, and product offerings
- Identify and articulate clear value propositions and differentiators
Innovation & market leadership
- Think big — challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas
- Identify emerging market trends and opportunities ahead of competitors
- Contribute to the development of new products and first-to-market solutions
Reporting & data integrity
- Maintain accurate records and pipeline data in Salesforce
- Provide clear, accurate weekly progress and activity reports
What you’ll bring
- At least 5-8 years of business developement or in a similar role
- Proven experience in B2B consultative sales, ideally within education, learning, HR or professional services
- A strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and KPIs
- Confidence engaging and influencing mid to senior-level stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build long-term client relationships
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-focused
- Tertiary qualifications are preferred but not essential.
