Satellite Foundation is looking for a skilled and values-driven Management Accountant to strengthen our financial capability and support smart, sustainable decision-making across the organisation.

This is a part-time role (3 days a week equivalent, spread over Monday to Friday), ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on financial control and partnering with leaders to turn numbers into meaningful insights.

About the role

You’ll take ownership of Satellite’s financial management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong reporting. You’ll also act as a trusted advisor to the Executive and Board, helping build financial literacy and confidence across the organisation.

Key areas include:

  • Leading month-end, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Managing budgets, forecasts, and insights
  • Overseeing finance systems and continuous improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with ATO and accounting standards
  • Supporting audits and strengthening governance
  • Partnering with teams to guide decision-making

What you’ll bring

  • CA/CPA qualification with strong accounting experience
  • Deep knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax requirements
  • Proven experience in reporting, budgeting, and audits
  • Confidence presenting financial insights to senior stakeholders/Boards
  • Strong systems skills (cloud accounting + Excel)
  • A proactive, independent, and collaborative approach

Desirable:

  • Not-for-profit experience
  • Power BI or data visualisation skills
  • Lived experience of family mental health challenges
