The Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Leading Hand is responsible for guiding, mentoring and training your crew to ensure it is running efficiently.  You will complete administrative tasks such as Daily Job Reports, tracking site materials to report to the site engineer, 2 day lookaheads, manage and adhere to the inspection test plans and interpret the plans for the project. The Leading Hand is also responsible for the safety and management of their crew including any labour hire or subcontracting staff and ensuring that site safety requirements are met as well as working closely with the engineer to ensure that site specifications are met. The Leading Hand position relies heavily on a strong understanding of varying types of service installations and the management of their crew.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current Driver’s License is mandatory
  • White Card
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Experience in installing multiple services
  • Ability to read and interpret plans
  • Availability and willingness to work day shift, night shift, overtime and weekend work as required
