Truck Driver (HR)

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HR Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering mushrooms to market using company vehicles and machinery, while maintaining product quality and adhering to strict safety and temperature requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor traffic conditions, control devices, and work zones in all weather conditions to ensure safe operations.
• Plan and follow the safest, smoothest route from the farm to the market to protect product quality during transport.
• Continuously assess traffic flow and surroundings to maintain a high level of safety at all times.
• Assist with on-site traffic control to ensure the safety of pedestrians, vehicles, employees, and other stakeholders.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, particularly during delivery operations.
• Assist with sorting boxes and arranging products to enable efficient loading onto the truck.
• Ensure the truck is pre-cooled and maintained at 2°C before loading mushrooms.
• Support the timely coordination of loading and unloading activities.
• Operate heavy machinery, including forklifts and company vehicles, safely and professionally according to workload requirements.
• Follow instructions promptly and accurately to meet transport and logistics timelines.
• Maintain truck refrigeration temperature as close to 2°C as possible during unloading by minimizing open-door time.
• Understand how ambient temperatures during unloading can affect truck refrigeration and product quality.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Valid HR Drivers Licence (Automatic) with the ability to pass a driver’s licence check with minimal or no infringements.
• Ability to read, follow and comprehend traffic diagrams, regulations and instructions.
• Current and valid Forklift Licence, with previous experience operating forklifts and loading products.
• Strong planning and task-prioritisation skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to adapt to changing transport and logistics requirements.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and also within team environment.
• Reasonable level of physical fitness.
• Strong time-management skills.
