Construction Cadet

Are you a University student or recent graduate pursuing a career in Construction Management? Join the dynamic team at RTC Group as a Construction Cadet. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry, working alongside experienced professionals on a range of project types.

Daily Activities Include:

• Project Assistance: Assist in the coordination, planning, and execution of construction projects under the supervision of Project Managers and Site Managers.

• Documentation: Help manage project documentation, including, project folders, plans, contracts, PO’s and reports. Ensure that all records are properly maintained and updated.

• Contract Administration: Assist the Contracts Administrator with subcontracts and PO’s.

• Site Work: Support Site Manager and Supervisors with on-site activities, including quality checks, safety monitoring, and assisting in inspections. Learn to identify and solve on-site issues as they arise.

• Safety and Quality: Assist the WHS Coordinator in ensuring that projects comply with WHS regulations. Support the implementation of safety and quality protocols.

• Project Meetings: Assist Project Managers in preparation for project meetings. Attend meetings to take minutes and communicate follow up actions.

• Project Reporting: Prepare progress reports and help with the coordination of construction activities.

• Tender Applications: Support the Planning and Design team with tender applications. Identify leads for new vendors / suppliers and follow up quotes.

About You:

• Strong interest in the construction industry and a desire to learn

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

• Proficiency in using relevant software and technology

• Adaptability and the ability to work well in a team

• Studying or recently completed a construction related university degree, preferably Construction Management.

• Be available to work 5 days a week.
