Description

About RSPCA Queensland

For nearly 140 years, RSPCA Queensland has been a leading animal welfare charity, dedicated to improving the lives of animals – whether domestic, farmed, or native. We care for over 42,000 animals annually, relying on the generosity of animal lovers like you to fund 91% of our life-changing services.

Our Purpose: We exist for animals to live better lives.

About the Role

RSPCA Queensland is looking for a highly adaptable and motivated Retail Operations All Rounder to support our growing commercial operations across retail, ecommerce, café and warehouse functions.

This is a dynamic and varied role designed for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys hands-on work and loves being part of a fast-moving environment. While the role has a strong focus on retail and ecommerce, you’ll also provide support across café, warehouse and operational functions as needed.

From delivering great in-store customer experiences and fulfilling online orders, to supporting stock operations, café service and special events, no two days will look the same. You’ll play an important role in helping deliver seamless customer experiences across multiple channels while contributing ideas to improve operations, sales and service.

This role is ideal for someone looking for a part-time role, who is proactive, flexible, tech-savvy and excited to be part of a purpose-driven organisation making a real difference for animals.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, works well in fast-paced environments and is happy jumping between different tasks and teams throughout the day.

You’ll bring strong customer service skills, a positive and hands-on attitude and confidence working across retail, ecommerce and operational environments. You’re organised, adaptable and comfortable balancing customer interactions, online order fulfilment, stock handling and general operational support.

You’ll also be someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes initiative and is eager to contribute ideas to improve processes and customer experience across the business.

Most importantly, you’ll align with RSPCA Queensland’s values and have a genuine interest in animal welfare and community impact.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create positive in-store experiences.
  • Provide product recommendations and support sales through strong product knowledge.
  • Maintain store presentation, merchandising standards and stock levels.
  • Support customer enquiries and adoption-related enquiries where required.
  • Pick, pack and dispatch online orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Process ecommerce orders, refunds, exchanges and customer enquiries.
  • Assist with maintaining product listings, pricing, descriptions and imagery across ecommerce platforms.
  • Support digital marketing activities including website updates, email campaigns and social media content.
  • Assist with stock handling, stocktakes, transfers and inventory accuracy.
  • Support warehouse organisation, goods receipting and operational processes.
  • Provide operational support within the café including customer service and food presentation.
  • Assist with product selection, stock ordering and merchandising activities.
  • Support events, pop-ups, promotions and offsite operational activities.
  • Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement across commercial operations.
  • Represent the RSPCA Qld brand professionally and positively at all times.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Previous experience in retail, ecommerce, hospitality or a similar multi-functional environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Confident digital skills including POS systems, ecommerce platforms and basic marketing tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in stock handling and order processing.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to support different teams when needed.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work across retail, warehouse, office and café environments.
  • Physical capability to perform manual handling duties, including lifting up to 10–15kg.
  • A genuine interest in animal welfare and alignment with RSPCA Qld’s mission and values.

Please note: Forklift licence, Shopify or Pronto XI experience will be highly regarded but are not essential.
