The Opportunity
Due to continued company growth, we are seeking a reliable and motivated Barrier Labourer to join our team. This is a hands-on role supporting both yard and site operations, including the safe handling, loading, and installation of barrier equipment. You’ll play a key part in ensuring efficient operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Load and unload concrete and steel barriers using a 16t forklift
- Assist with barrier preparation and on-site installation works
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently in line with procedures
- Complete required paperwork (SWMS, pre-starts, checklists, load records)
- Maintain accurate records including item counts, photos, and documentation
- Communicate effectively with customers and support site operations
- Assist with stocktakes and use digital systems to track tasks
- Support yard operations including equipment handling, staging, and storage
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet operational priorities
- Undertake site-based work in high-risk environments
What You Will Bring:
- Proven forklift operating experience (16t highly regarded)
- Experience loading/unloading trucks and working in yard or construction environments
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work autonomously
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and strong time management
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable using smartphone apps and digital systems
- Experience using hand tools
Licences & Requirements
- Valid High Risk Forklift Licence
- Driver’s Licence
- White Card
- HR Licence (or willingness to obtain) – highly regarded
- Riggers Licence (or willingness to obtain) – highly regarded
- Availability to work night shifts and overtime as required
