Royal Life Saving WA is a leading not-for-profit organisation that works to prevent drowning and empower the WA community to be safe when in, on and around the water. We do this through delivery of a range of education, research, advocacy, risk management and training programs. 

Summary:

The Finance Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation in Mount Claremont, Western Australia. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in accountancy, providing essential assistance in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial health of the business, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Support the processing of invoices and payments
  • Conduct reconciliations of bank statements and accounts
  • Assist with audits and compliance checks
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team
  • Respond to financial inquiries from staff and management

Qualifications:

  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred but not essential
  • Basic understanding of financial principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with accounting software, experience with Xero is preferred but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
