The Role

This position is vital in supporting insurance repair building projects by creating precise desktop estimates and assessments based on site reports, photos, documentation, and other details supplied by field teams.

You’ll collaborate closely with Estimators, Supervisors, and Administrators to deliver estimates that are timely, accurate, and fully compliant with insurer guidelines and client standards.

Key responsibilities include preparing precise desktop quotations that align with client pricing frameworks and internal processes.

Your Key Tasks

  • Reviewing and adjusting site reports, including roof reports and causation reports
  • Completing estimates and associated documentation using details provided by on-site Estimators and Supervisors
  • Validating variations, BAU, and event-related estimates and reports
  • Identifying potential variations or additional works and clearly documenting them for site team review
  • Reviewing client-requested quotations and confirming accuracy before submission
  • Submitting quotations and reports via insurer portals and client systems, meeting all required KPIs
  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to secure up-to-date pricing and scope details
  • Updating Schedule of Rates (SOR) items to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions
  • Maintaining thorough job notes, documentation, and records in estimating and job management systems
  • Contributing to estimating process improvements and greater workflow efficiency
  • May include site inspections

About You

You’ll bring strong analytical and technical abilities, with a knack for interpreting construction documents and producing reliable estimates.

Key attributes include:

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills combined with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency in interpreting site reports, photographs, and technical documentation
  • Solid knowledge of construction terminology and building techniques
  • Proven ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, KPI-focused setting
  • Confidence navigating estimating software and insurer/client portals
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Skills & Experience

  • Australian work rights
  • Current unrestricted Drivers licence
  • Trade qualification and/or Certificate IV in Building & Construction (or equivalent)
  • White card and Working at Heights certifications
  • Prior experience in construction estimating or insurance building/repair environments highly regarded
  • Knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SOR) pricing structures advantageous
  • Familiarity with variations and insurance claims processes beneficial
