The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Electricians to join our project teams delivering mission-critical data centre infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale data centre builds, supporting the installation, testing, and commissioning of critical electrical systems that ensure reliability, availability, and operational performance.

Successful candidates will be involved in commissioning major electrical infrastructure including HV/LV systems, switchboards, generators, UPS systems, power distribution systems, control systems, and critical building services. These are ongoing opportunities within a rapidly growing sector. We are unable to offer FIFO opportunities, so you must be local or able to locate yourself in Melbourne for the project duration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical commissioning activities including point-to-point testing, functional testing, and verification of electrical systems.
  • Conduct insulation resistance testing (meggering) of cables and equipment.
  • Complete continuity, polarity, and termination checks across electrical systems.
  • Verify installation quality, cable schedules, labelling, and documentation against project requirements.
  • Test and commission switchboards, distribution boards, UPS systems, generators, and associated critical power infrastructure.
  • Support integrated systems testing (IST) and functional performance testing.
  • Conduct control system checks, alarms, interlocks, and cause-and-effect testing.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve commissioning issues to ensure systems are ready for handover and operation.
  • Work closely with project engineers, vendors, and client representatives throughout commissioning activities.

Rates and Allowances

  • $68.37 per hour
  • Productivity allowance-$4.00 per hour
  • Site allowance -$6.05 per hour
  • Height allowance -$.69 per hour

Qualifications & Experience

  • Electrical Licence (essential)
  • Experience in electrical commissioning within data centres, critical infrastructure, industrial, mining, or high-reliability environments.
  • Experience with HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, and switchgear highly regarded
  • Working at heights.
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
