About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to support the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payroll. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is confident handling payroll queries and data.
Reporting to the Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day payroll operations, maintaining data integrity, and providing excellent support to employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support weekly and monthly payroll processing in line with payroll schedules
- Prepare and validate payroll inputs including timesheets, overtime, allowances, leave, and employee changes
- Assist with off-cycle payroll runs as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation
- Support payroll reporting, journals, and reconciliations
- Manage payroll inbox enquiries and respond to employee queries
- Escalate complex payroll matters where required
- Assist with compliance activities, audits, and payroll checks
- Identify and suggest process improvements
About You
- Previous experience in a payroll support or officer role
- Understanding of payroll processes, legislation, and Modern Awards
- Experience with payroll systems (Employment Innovations highly regarded)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
