Description

Case Worker – Level 3 to Level 4 – Strengthening Family Connections (Delegated Authority) Program – Cairns based.

Position Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Strengthening Family Connections Program (DA) – Client Officer is to actively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families ,children and young people, supporting self-determination, prioritising cultural connections and improving outcomes for children and families.

The Opportunity:

  • This position is full-time, based in Cairns and travel will be required.
  • Provide innovative, intensive wrap-around outreach family support services to children to engage and support families and the children themselves via creative strengths-based evidence informed intervention strategies.
  • Maintain client data records and adhere to confidentiality policies and practices.

About You:

  • Have the ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner with First Nations young people, their families and communities to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained.
  • Have effective time management and be a strong communicator with interpersonal skills and be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
