RAATISCC are looking for a committed, skilled and passionate individual to join the friendly RAATSICC team as an Office Support Worker – Level 3 -Full Time – Cairns Based.

Position Purpose:

The Office Support Worker provides administrative and operational support across RAATSIC’s programs, reporting to the Office Manager. This role is key to RAATSIC’s day-to-day office operations, responsible for maintaining smooth administrative systems, coordinating office supplies and mail, and providing general support to the leadership team and broader organisation.  

Alongside core administrative duties, the Office Support Worker contributes to RAATSIC’s communications presence by producing flyers, promotional materials, and social media content that reflect the organisation’s brand, values, and community identity. The role requires a highly organised, proactive, and personable individual with strong attention to detail, sound digital literacy, and a genuine commitment to supporting an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation. 

Requirements:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and support smooth office operations across a busy multi-program organisation  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams  
  • Sound written communication and organisational skills, with the ability to draft clear, professional correspondence 
  • Basic to intermediate graphic design skills, with experience using tools such as Canva or equivalent to produce flyers, promotional materials, and branded content  
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram, with the ability to draft and schedule engaging, appropriate, and on-brand organisational content  
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality, with the ability to handle sensitive information in a professional and appropriate manner  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, professional manner, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, visitors, community members, and external stakeholders  
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and to seek guidance appropriately, contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
  •   Commitment to culturally safe and respectful practice, with an understanding of and sensitivity to the context of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations 

About You:

• Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality practices and organisational policy procedures.

• An ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island young people, their families and communities, to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained.

• Have an understanding of / or the ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of RAATSICC program service responses and interventions in working with vulnerable families that may be experiencing trauma and family disconnection.

• Have an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.

• Have an average level of computer skill set and of relevant technology, specifically all aspects of Microsoft Office suite.

• Have effective time management skills (punctuality, meeting deadlines, prioritising tasks).
