Description

Summary:

The Compliance Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our social care services in Cairns adhere to all relevant regulations and standards. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and quality of our operations, safeguarding the welfare of our clients, and promoting a culture of compliance within the organisation. As a contract role, the Compliance Officer will work full-time to implement compliance strategies and monitor adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
  • Provide training and support to staff on compliance matters and best practices.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and advise management on necessary adjustments to policies.
  • Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of compliance across the organisation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as law, social care, or business administration.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a compliance role, preferably within the social care sector.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
