The Role:

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining automated revenue auditing systems used to detect revenue leakage for airlines. A critical aspect of this role involves translating airline industry rules into scalable system logic.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Breaking down complex problems into clear, solvable pieces and implementing solutions end-to-end.
  • Investigating audit findings, debugging issues, and driving fixes through to production.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and optimised code to ensure efficient system performance.
  • Collaborating with interdependent teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Demonstrating a proactive, ownership-driven mindset by independently driving tasks to completion.

Core Competencies & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of commercial experience in software engineering and/or data engineering.
  • Education: Tertiary qualification in Computer Science
  • Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with a structured approach to tackling complex systems.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: A strong focus on accuracy and care for real business impact.

Technical Skills

  • Data & Database: Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Programming: Proficient in Python for automation and data processing.
  • Spreadsheets: Experience with or willingness to work with Excel workbooks, including implementing and maintaining code/logic embedded in spreadsheets.
  • Version Control: Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
  • Cloud: Familiarity with cloud platforms.
  • Documentation: Ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation and translate it into code.
