What you’ll do
You will use your strong communication and stakeholder management skills to partner with leaders across the business to shape strong, capable and high-performing teams, enabling organisational effectiveness and supporting Rail First to deliver on its’ strategic objectives. You will form trusted relationships with the workforce and become the point of contact for employees and leaders in relation to all aspects of people, culture and employee experience.
As an HRBP at Rail First, you will be primarily responsible for:
- Partnering with leaders and their teams to provide guidance and support on all policies and processes sitting within the People function remit
- Providing first-level support with employee relations matters including performance and conduct, counselling and mediation, grievances and investigations
- Supporting the People Director with the development and implementation of the People Strategy and all associated programs and initiatives
- Support the talent and succession planning process, identifying capability gaps and required learning activities
- Assisting with the execution of annual core people processes such as performance reviews, employee engagement surveys and reward and recognition
- Partnering with the HR Advisor on recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, Worker’s Compensation case management and return to work coordination
What you’ll bring
To enable your success in the role, the following skills and experience will be required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- Strong experience in and knowledge of HR practices and processes
- A demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships at all levels within an organisation
- Strong communication and influencing skills, alongside demonstrated problem-solving capability
- Demonstrated understanding of Fair Work legislation and/or other industrial instruments
- Strong business acumen and an ability to practice integrity, objectivity and confidentiality
- An ability to travel to our other sites as required
Experience within a heavy industry environment such as rail, construction or mining would be advantageous, but not essential.
