Description

Our team is looking for a creative and community-minded storyteller to join us as a Content Coordinator.

At the QRL, you’ll help unite and inspire Queenslanders through lifelong engagement in Rugby League. From grassroots volunteers to regional carnivals and participation programs, this role plays a key part in ensuring community football is seen, celebrated and championed across the state.

What you’ll do on a day-to-day

As the Content Coordinator, you’ll plan, coordinate and delivery of content across QRL and Community Rugby League platforms. You’ll also:

  • Develop and maintain aligned content plans for QRL and Community Rugby League social and digital channels.
  • Own the day-to-day management of QRL social platforms, including publishing, moderation and community engagement.
  • Concept, brief, coordinate and at times produce content executions (video, photography and written storytelling).
  • Act as the primary content contact for Community Rugby League, working closely with regional teams to surface and elevate grassroots stories.
  • Translate participation, volunteerism and community initiatives into engaging, brand-aligned content.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Creative Services, Media and Partnerships teams to ensure a unified brand voice.
  • Brief videographers, designers and freelancers where required, including supporting regional events and carnivals.
  • Monitor and report on content performance, using insights and analytics to optimise future planning.
  • Support and uplift community staff by providing tools, templates and guidance to improve content capability and consistency across the state.
  • Uphold QRL brand guidelines and style standards across all content and platforms.
  • Travel intra-state when required to capture content at key community events.

What you’ll bring

You’re creative and you understand audience behaviour, platform nuance and how to tell stories that resonate. You’re collaborative, proactive and not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You’ll also bring:

  • 1- 2 years experience in a similar content, digital or social media role.
  • Tertiary qualification in Digital Media, Communications, Marketing or similar is desired but not essential
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends and best practice.
  • Experience planning, scheduling and publishing content across multiple channels.
  • Experience using social and web analytics to inform content decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships across diverse teams and regions.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of, and interest in, Rugby League preferred.
  • A willingness to work outside traditional Monday–Friday hours when required and travel across Queensland.

ROLE SPECS

This is a permanent full-time position. The salary for this position is $70,000 plus superannuation. QRL remunerate based on the position requirements to ensure gender pay equity in sport. We offer 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week of refresh leave throughout the season as well as hybrid working arrangements.
