About the role
The Competitions Compliance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Statewide Competition clubs to meet their compliance, registration and participation requirements.
This role is central to ensuring competitions are run with integrity and consistency, providing hands‑on support across player contracts, salary cap compliance, registrations, clearances and participation agreements. You’ll work closely with clubs and internal stakeholders to provide clear guidance, practical problem‑solving and timely support, particularly during peak competition periods.
This is a detail‑focused, process‑driven role suited to someone who enjoys working with data, managing deadlines, and building strong relationships in a fast‑moving sporting environment. The position is based in our Brisbane office, with some evening and weekend work required during the season.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing direct compliance and administrative support to Statewide Competition clubs, ensuring salary cap, contract and registration requirements are met
- Preparing, managing and issuing player contracts and club templates through DocuSign, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Supporting clubs with player registrations, transfers and international and domestic clearances through MySideline, including reporting and troubleshooting
- Acting as a system super user for Smartabase and DocuSign, including training and ongoing support for club users
- Maintaining accurate contract, registration and salary cap data to enable real‑time visibility and forecasting of potential breaches
- Supporting Participation Agreement compliance, including quarterly reporting, club reviews and escalation of non‑compliance where required
- Building strong relationships with clubs and stakeholders to provide clear guidance, relevant information and consistent compliance support
- Assisting with competition operations and major events, including season matches, finals, awards and themed rounds
- Supporting player welfare, integrity and eligibility processes, including liaison with Sports Integrity Australia and wellbeing teams
About you
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (such as sport management, business or administration), or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in an administration, compliance or operations role within a process‑driven environment, with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately and to deadline.
- Strong systems capability, including experience working across multiple platforms and databases, and confidence using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Smartabase, DocuSign, MySideline or similar systems is desirable but not essential.
- High attention to detail, clear organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, particularly during peak periods.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and practical support to clubs and internal teams.
- Experience within sport or a regulated, membership‑based environment is desirable.
Role Specs
This is a permanent full‑time position. The salary for this position is $70,000 plus superannuation. QRL remunerate based on the position requirements to ensure gender pay equity in sport.
We offer 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week of refresh leave throughout the season, as well as hybrid working arrangements.
