We are seeking suitably qualified people experienced with electronics and compliance to join our team at our Redbank, Australia facility.

About the Role

As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of raw materials, components, and assemblies used in the production of QSA’s Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). You will ensure all materials meet the necessary specifications and quality standards before and after being used in the assembly process.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Inspect incoming raw materials, electronic components, mechanical parts, and subassemblies for conformance to specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
  • Review Certificates of Conformance (CoC), vendor test data, and material certifications for compliance with established requirements.
  • Record and maintain detailed records of inspections, including any non-conformities found during incoming inspections.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections to ensure compliance with design and engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct quality control checks and testing of assembled UAV systems to ensure proper functionality. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inspections, test results, and compliance reports.
  • Ensure inspections, materials and components comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Certificate in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a material inspection or quality control role, ideally in aerospace, electronics, UAS, or a related industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents.
  • MUST HAVE: Ability to obtain an Australian National Security Clearance (Australian citizenship required).

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Relevant certifications in quality inspection (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or other applicable standards.
  • Continuous Improvement tools such as Fishbone, 5-Why, Six Sigma etc.
